Change Your Daily Life
A Note From Josie Hey lovely, Josie here. I used to think that if I wanted to “be healthy and happy,” the habits I needed to change were what I ate and how I worked out. To be fair, it’s not bad start, but I was wrong… here’s what needed to change. What I was […]
What you need is a plan!
What did you do with your locked-down morning today?
You know… that part that was your own, where you got to choose? Before the demands of others barged in.
Do you have a systematic plan? Or do you leave it to chance.
Do you choose to mindlessly flick through your phone, or do you choose to get up and mindfully move?
Maybe you think it’s hard to change your habits? You’ve tried before, it failed. It’s impossible! You tell yourself this often enough. Guess what! You’ll be right.
But just maybe you could think differently?
Don’t wait. Create!
Don’t wait for harmony. Create it!
Today I was told that change illuminates character! 🕯
So as we rolled with yet more COVID punches this week, I found myself asking, how are you holding up Josie?
Where’s your optimism at now 🤔? Still ready for this adventure? Can you continue to be disciplined, show up and figure out what’s possible? How long’s it going to be before you want to go hide, cry 😭 for help, stamp your feet, declare it’s not fair!

As a practice of union, Yoga has got me to slow down and step out of speed cycle that was at times addictive, restless and unhealthy. 🤒
Now I get that the more we take on, the more difficult it is to get off our speed mills. Life just gets fuller and fuller and you just have to keep running to keep up. 🏃🏻♀️ And the more we run, the more we lose our way.
We deplete our inner resources (our bodies) and our external resources (the planet).
Do you see it? Want a way out?

If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you want for yourself next year?
What experiences are you hoping for?
How do you want to feel?
What emotions do you want more of?
When you ask yourself these questions, were any of your answers the same as those you had last year and the year before that? At the risk of voicing the depressingly obvious, does that not kinda suck… real bad?

Choice is your super power, it’s your ticket to getting what you want out of life.
But this week, I come to you with a teeny tiny yogi observation…aka WARNING.
What gives you your power, can also slap you back in the face with a huge dose of responsibility, confusion and doubt.
Will you make the right choice? What if you don’t? Eeek.
You feelin’ that good vibration? A QUICK YOGI WAY TO WITHIN
Hey Yogi-in-Training. Hope your week was sweet. 😉
Today’s yoga quickie is inspired by the music streaming services of Spotify.
I just fired up my account and got to scrolling through some beautifully curated sets of tunes designed by its experts to shift me into any desired state of mind or mood. Let me see, do I need help getting my sorry ass out of bed, or be inspired to go kick some creative butt? As I have already won the war to wake, I’ll go for the latter option. Thankyou Spotify.
But It got me asking, who really needs a microscope or a science degree to see that sound can be a very cool way of communicating with the central nervous system?
Which is what I want you to remember as we dive into this week’s yoga quickie which is all about using sound or vibration to access heightened states of awareness, clarity and consciousness.
3 Reasons to Find Permission to Pause
YOGA, as well as a really cool physical practice that gives us a great outer bod, also encourages us to take a look under the hood (so to speak) and tinker around for some deeper solutions to life’s daily challenges.
Today’s yoga solution is: Find Permission to Pause.
Let’s be real, only when you draw that line in the sand, pin your flag to the mast, dig in your size sixes and scream ‘enough now’. Then and only then, can things start to shift in your life, evolve – move along baby.
Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, whatever you want that result to be is, as Einstein famously put, insane.
I’m not calling anyone crazy, here, but maybe, urmm aren’t we a little?
Yoga-In-Training: Introducing the journal
A list of the small stuff
Start where you are and keep going. It’s a great mantra for us all. Just get going and keep going.
So, that’s what this yogi-in-training is doing. Taking small steps, easy steps that feel good right away to move me a tad closer, any amount, to where I’m headed – a wildly successful yogi and business entrepreneur. (We can move small but there’s no reason to think small.)
Now, it’s hard to see how those little things add up, so I’m tracking them. I want to see how this all unfolds. What will be the long-term results of doing the work, showing up…?
Introducing the journal…. log it, blog it, just get it down on paper/screen and watch life change…
A list of the small stuff. Some of it, so far…
