Yoga Advent Challenge To Elevate Your Well-being

Join the Yoga Advent Challenge 2023 for Daily Joy and Self-Care

In this blog and podcast I’m talking about the practice and tradition of Yoga and how it’s teachings can help us build the systems, the habits and the mind body connection that will help us prioritise effectively, reconnect with our inner creative output, ask the important questions, and skyrocket our energy and joy for life.

Let Us Get To Know You

Before we get going I wanted to remind you to follow us over on Instagram (@yogalocaluk) – for those of you who are new to me – hello it’s nice to meet you and I do genuinely want to meet you and get to know you.

I don’t have a personal bio but me and my daughter are the real folks behind the business page so go on and introduce yourself.

We’d love to hear about who you are, why you’re interested in practice and the challenges you have. And I would love to align some resources for you and see how I could help. It’s really good for me to get to know you and know what’s going on in your world.

Which leads me nicely into what I’m talking about today – a fun resource I have been putting together and a super cool festive challenge that you are invited to for FREE – and we’d love you to share with all your friends who say they can’t make time for themselves.

So let’s get to it.

There’s something invigorating about starting anew, drawing that line in the sand, and feeling the surge of momentum that comes with it. Typically, we reserve this experience for the dawn of a new year. As we find ourselves almost in December, on the cusp of another year, it’s convenient that we’re about to witness that transformative moment again. Yet, what Yoga has taught me is that there’s no need to wait until January 1st to initiate change, hit the “RESET” button, or pursue what you truly, deeply desire

Break Free from New Year’s Resolutions: Embrace Daily Practices for Lasting Change

Moreover, let’s face it—the success rate of New Year’s resolutions is abysmal. We all know it. By February, most of us have already started slipping on the commitments we felt so passionately about on day 1.

So, let me introduce you to an alternative approach. Drumroll, please—say hello to the concept of dedicated, daily practice. We’re going to take it one day at a time, establishing a consistent routine that builds momentum and reinforces the importance of making yourself a priority. No traditional Yoga Asana practice is needed here—no downward dogs, mats, or class bookings. Think of this as the preparation phase! Most of us require a runway—a launch pad for this type of commitment, even if it’s solely to ourselves.

If we can cultivate small habits and weave them into something enduring, we build the mental fortitude to sustain a more profound relationship with a rather significant person in our lives—our own selves.

I witness it frequently. We often neglect regular self-check-ins, losing ourselves amidst the hustle and bustle. We get entangled in the “other stuff,” diverting us from what we genuinely desire and deem important for thriving in life. Let’s break free from that cycle. I can assist with that. Yoga can help with that.

One last thing. Now as a fellow high-achiever holding the “I’m too busy” badge, I understand the temptation to dismiss these small daily practices as insignificant. However, taking a few minutes—regularly, not just on New Year’s or your birthday—to recalibrate can save you from the exhaustion, overwhelm, and disappointment of chasing the wrong goals or straying too far off course.

Unlock Your Potential: Yoga Local’s Unique Approach to Building Lifelong Wellness Habits

Engaging in the ritual of these small daily practices will connect you to the discipline needed for lifelong practice. Gift yourself that moment and see the magic unfold when you allow space for it.

The best part? The daily habits we have coming your way are incredibly simple and easy to implement. More importantly, by following the process, they’ll significantly increase your odds of achieving any goal. But here’s the catch: For these to work, you need to get in the arena—no one can do this work for you.

Remember, you have big, beautiful dreams for yourself that deserve to see the light of day, every day. But you’ll never make them happen if you’re stuck in overwhelm doing all the things for all the people.

Let’s start building the habits that will help us prioritise effectively, reconnect with our inner creative output, ask the important questions, and skyrocket our energy and joy for life.

Stay tuned for more details and daily challenges!
