Need a refresher on taking a LIVE online class?

Steps to signing up for and attending online classes

All you need is the member app, a device to access your zoom link and yourself!

Here’s a quick how-to guide to signing up and attending so you never ever have to miss a class, even when you can’t make it into (or are not allowed) in the studio.

While our ‘In Studio’ classes only require you to book online and show up to class, there are a few simple things we recommend you have in order to participate in your ‘LIVE online’ class.

Yoga For Tight Hips

yoga blog hip openers

Check out these yoga videos for tight hips.

Sometimes, you don’t find yoga – yoga finds you. For example… did you know our Maz is working to deliver RCVR classes for our neighbours, ShireFit, a cross fit gym here at Nene Court, Wellingborough and for its members in Corby too.

It’s not what you’d call traditional yoga – but that’s not always where we want to start! Where we start is with a specific need! If you have tight hips… you need to watch this.

You’ve Abandoned Me. Balance Don’t Live Here Anymore!

More on why we all need a yoga practice.

Did you know when we are out of balance we tend to stay out of balance. To the point where someone’s ‘out of balanced’ state might actually feel (at least to them)… balanced, even good.

This is not good. It’s a lie people fall asleep to night after night. And if you’re wondering why we’d do that to ourselves, hear me out.

I was drawn, and still am drawn, to dynamic, strong movement. No pain no gain! I’m an 80s chick. I got the T-shirt. Plus, it’s not the easiest pattern of thinking to shift.

But what I get now, thanks to studying, practicing and teaching yoga, is being drawn to dynamic work, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s what someone needs. At least not all the time.

What you need is a plan!

What did you do with your locked-down morning today?

You know… that part that was your own, where you got to choose? Before the demands of others barged in.

Do you have a systematic plan? Or do you leave it to chance.

Do you choose to mindlessly flick through your phone, or do you choose to get up and mindfully move?

Maybe you think it’s hard to change your habits? You’ve tried before, it failed. It’s impossible! You tell yourself this often enough. Guess what! You’ll be right.

But just maybe you could think differently?

It’s back! And it’s FREE.

Throughout January I’m inviting you to work to a systematic plan to take care of your Self!

Did you know working towards a spiritual goal is called Sadhana in yoga speak? Anyway… here’s the plan. It was created in Lockdown Take 2 and it’s back to support you through the challenges of Lockdown living!!

Don’t wait. Create!

Don’t wait for harmony. Create it!

Today I was told that change illuminates character! 🕯

So as we rolled with yet more COVID punches this week, I found myself asking, how are you holding up Josie?
Where’s your optimism at now 🤔? Still ready for this adventure? Can you continue to be disciplined, show up and figure out what’s possible? How long’s it going to be before you want to go hide, cry 😭 for help, stamp your feet, declare it’s not fair!

Ways to Detox with Yoga

You only have one body. This is all you get!

Learn how to enhance your capacity to detox and rejuvenate with yoga.

To be healthy is our natural state and yoga, under the umbrella of its sister science of life, Ayurveda, is part of a whole system of healing.

So you may love working with the poses and using them as a benchmark to some kind of physical prowess, but forget the alignment of your downward dog for a second and instead shift your emphasis on both yoga and meditation as tools to get every aspect of your ‘being’ working in harmony.

Finding the Lesson in the Rule of 6

The Rule of 6… scary right? or is it? you see, EVERYONE that is coming to class in the studio are in a maximum of 6 but instead of being concerned, I watch as their shoulders relax as they walk in to calm that is Yoga Local.

It’s times like this that yoga can give us that sense of calm and more importantly, a feeling of normality.

Sound Healing Meditation

Vibration Stimulation!

Have you experienced the Yoga Gong and Sound class yet? If you haven’t, give it a bash!

It’s clear that introducing a Gong to the studio allows for a brilliantly immersive yoga experience, but what are the actual benefits?

This sound healing practice has different effects depending on the type of gong used. Our studio gong is a Mercury Planetary gong and is said to create strong connective power.
