Quit Hustling For Your Enoughness

You Are Enough!

Hey. Me again.I have something to tell you that’s super important: You are enough.

Yep, you heard me right and no, I’m not being trite.

It’s easy isn’t it to feel like we’re not quite cutting it, but when you look at yourself through the worldview of the yoga tradition, each of us is nothing short of an expression of the divine itself.

And what’s more, we’ve been designed with everything we need within us. Our human technology is built for optimisation! We have what we need to thrive.

Sounds a little out there of course and frankly, our lives, our habits our conditioning and environment all get in the way of that potential. We’ve all forgot our greatness.

So let’s chat about what it really means to remember your connection to nature, the divine and how embracing your true self can unlock a whole lot of abundance and generosity in your life.

Understanding Your True Self

First things first, let’s get to know this “true self” that gets banged on about in Yoga. Your true self is the you that’s free from all the nonsense and noise – the you that’s not worried about what others think or whether you’re doing enough. It’s the part of you that’s naturally generous and full of life. When you connect with this part of yourself, you’ll realise that you don’t need to hustle for your worthiness – you already are enough.

Embracing Your Inner Abundance

So, how do you start to embrace this abundance within? Here are a few tips to get you started:

  1. Start with Gratitude:
  • Take a few minutes each day to think about what you’re grateful for. It doesn’t have to be big stuff – maybe it’s your morning coffee, a chat with a friend, or just a sunny day. Gratitude shifts your focus from what you lack to what you already have.
  1. Practice Self-Compassion:
  • Be kind to yourself, folks! We all have those days when we feel like we’re not enough. Instead of beating yourself up, treat yourself with the same kindness you’d show a friend. Remember, you’re doing your best.
  1. Let Go of Comparisons:
  • Stop comparing yourself to others. Seriously, stop it! Everyone’s on their own journey, and comparing yourself to others is a surefire way to feel like you’re not enough. Focus on your path and your progress.

Yoga Practices to Connect with Your True Self

Yoga is a fantastic way to connect with your true self and tap into that inner abundance. Here are a few practices to help you along the way:

  1.  Asanas:
  • Poses like Camel Pose (Ustrasana) and Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana) are great for cultivating the energies that connect with your inner generosity. Sun Practice is your go to class for this energy experience.
  1. Meditation:
  • Spend a few minutes each day in meditation. Sit quietly, focus on your breath, and just be. This practice helps you tune out the noise and connect with your true self. Remember, it’s not about stopping your thoughts but about being present with them.
  1. Affirmations:
  • Use affirmations to remind yourself of your worthiness. Phrases like “I am enough,” “I am worthy,” and “I have everything I need within me” can be powerful reminders. Repeat them to yourself, write them down, and let them sink in.

When you start to embrace that you are enough, something magical happens – you become more generous. It’s like a switch flips, and suddenly you’re giving from a place of abundance rather than scarcity. You realise that you have so much to offer, and you’re more willing to share your time, energy, and resources with others.

Practical Tips for Living Generously

Here are some practical tips to help you live generously from your abundant self:

  1. Share Your Time:
  • Offer your time to help others, whether it’s volunteering, listening to a friend, or just being present. Time is one of the most valuable things you can give.
  1. Be Kind:
  • Small acts of kindness go a long way. Smile at a stranger, hold the door open for someone, or give a compliment. Kindness is contagious and spreads positivity.
  1. Give Without Expectation:
  • True generosity means giving without expecting anything in return. Whether it’s your time, energy, or resources, give freely and watch how it transforms your relationships and your life.

Personal Reflection: You Are Enough

Take some time to reflect on how you can embrace your true self and live more generously. Here are a few questions to guide your reflection:

  • What are some things you’re grateful for right now?
  • How can you be kinder to yourself?
  • What small acts of kindness can you incorporate into your daily life?
  • How can you share your time and energy more generously with others?

Embrace Your Enough-ness

So, there you have it. You are enough, just as you are. By embracing your true self and recognising your inner abundance, you can live a more generous and fulfilling life.

And Yoga is the science, the system and the practice that can help you get to that realisation – so it’s not just something you say – it’s something you know!

Remember, it’s not about being perfect all the time or having it all together – but it is about starting to recognise that you’ve got everything you need within you. And when you live from that place of abundance, you inspire others to do the same.
