Fire in Yoga: Symbols of Inner Strength & Power

Be Brave: 3 Ways to Ignite Your Inner Fire & Burn Through Fear

Alright, here we are. The final stretch of ‘Be Brave.’

If you’ve been with me so far, you’ve:
✅ Found balance in a world that loves to knock you off-centre.
✅ Realised you are enough (no upgrades required).
✅ Learned the power of focus—where your energy goes, results follow.
✅ Stopped holding back and started stepping up.

Now, let’s take it to the next level. Because there’s one last layer to crack through before you’re truly free to move.

🔥 The layer of bullshit you’ve built around yourself over the years. 🔥

The stories, the beliefs, the inner voice that whispers: I can’t. I shouldn’t. I’m not ready. What if I fail?

This is where we transcend
This is where we burn through the blocks that have kept you playing small.
This is where we use yoga as it was meant to be used—not as exercise, but as a tool for transformation

What’s Keeping You Stuck?

Every single one of us is carrying something that keeps us limited.

Some of us feel trapped in a body that doesn’t move the way we want it to
Some of us feel trapped in a mind that constantly second-guesses and doubts
Some of us feel trapped by our past—by things we’ve done, by things done to us

Yoga says: Burn it.

🔥 Not with force.
🔥 Not with punishment.
🔥 But with the inner fire (tapas) that transforms

This is what yoga is actually about. Not stretching. Not sweating. Not ticking off poses like some kind of Instagram checklist.

🔥 It’s about purifying yourself of everything that’s keeping you from your true potential. 🔥

Symbols of Fire in Yoga—And How To Use Them

Yoga isn’t just about physical practice. It’s layered—like an ancient treasure map leading you back to your full power.

Fire is one of the biggest symbols in this system. It represents transformation—burning through impurities, dissolving limitations, forging something stronger.

Here’s how you work with it:

🔥 1. The Breath (Agni – The Inner Fire)

Your breath isn’t just air—it’s prana (life force). It fuels your body and mind. And when used properly, it can break through barriers

Try This: Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath).

    • Sit tall.
    • Take a full breath in.
    • Forcefully exhale through the nose, pulling the belly in sharply. Let the inhale be passive.
    • Keep going in short, powerful bursts—like you’re stoking a fire.
    • Do this for 30-60 seconds.

🔥 What it does: Clears mental fog, energises, and burns through stagnant energy

🔥 2. The Solar Plexus (Manipura – The Power Centre)

Ever felt fire in your belly? That’s your solar plexus, the energy centre responsible for confidence, willpower, and getting sh*t done.

Try This:

    • Hold Boat Pose (Navasana)

    • Feel the heat build in your core.
    • Stay one breath longer than your mind tells you to

🔥 What it does: Builds inner strength and burns through doubt and fear

🔥 3. The Ritual of Transformation (Agni Hotra – Offering to the Fire)

In traditional yoga, fire is used as a ritual for letting go. We give up what no longer serves us—old habits, limiting beliefs, attachments.

Try This:

    • Write down one thing that’s been holding you back.
    • Physically burn the paper (safely, obviously).
    • As you watch it burn, feel yourself releasing that limitation

🔥 What it does: Sends a signal to your mind that you’re done carrying that sh*t around

The Bravery to Burn

Burning away old layers isn’t comfortable.

🔥 It will challenge you.
🔥 It will ask you to sit in the discomfort.
🔥 It will strip away everything that isn’t real—and that can feel like losing a part of yourself.

But what if that part of you was never yours to begin with?

What if that self-doubt, that fear, that hesitation… was just conditioning? Just old energy that was never actually YOU?

Yoga isn’t here to make you a better version of yourself. It’s here to strip away everything that ISN’T you so that the real, untamed, powerful, limitless YOU can shine through.

And that? That takes fire

This Week’s Call to Action

🔥 Practice one thing that makes you uncomfortable this week—on or off the mat.
🔥 Try one of the fire practices above.
🔥 Download the Yoga Local app to keep the fire burning—because real transformation doesn’t happen in a single class. It happens in the consistent choice to show up for yourself

You’ve made it through four weeks of being brave. Now it’s time to decide:

🔥 Are you going to let fear keep running the show?
🔥 Or are you ready to burn through the limits and step into your full power?

Your call.

See you on the mat.
