Chakras: Not woo-woo, just wisdom.

Love the Process: Unlocking the Chakras

Ah, chakras. The buzzword of modern yoga. But let’s strip away the fluff and get to the heart of it. Chakras aren’t just spinning wheels of coloured light; they’re the universal forces that shape our journey through life.

That might feel wild, until you realise that to understand the Chakras, you have to first of all recognise and respect Yoga as a science (not just a nice way to relax and escape your day).

Google a simple definition of science and this what you get:

 a. : knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method.

b. : such knowledge or such a system of knowledge concerned with the physical world and its phenomena : natural science.

In other words, as a science it should follow a system that has undergone significant testing to deliver consistent results. (Try 5,000 years and counting).

That system is Hatha Yoga.

The Hatha Yoga Progression

    • Moon (Ida): Stability. Overcome negativity and prepare the ground.

    • Sun (Pingala): Transformation. Build strength and direct your energy.

    • Fire (Sushumna): Liberation. Merge mind and energy into one central channel.

Yoga teaches that when we follow this system and align with these forces, we don’t just feel balanced; we start living with purpose and power.

This is where yoga gets real and I guess when the conversation around Chakras can only begin to make sense. Not because anyone’s told you what they are, or you read about them somewhere, but because you have worked with the science and the practices that move yourself toward a living embodied experience of yourself as energy (real results).

Why This Matters to You

Feeling stuck? That’s blocked energy. Struggling to find meaning? That’s a disconnect from your higher self. Understanding the chakras isn’t woo-woo; it’s practical. It’s about clearing the clutter (fragmented, stored and stale energy patterns within your system), in a very specific, structured and sustainable way, so you can live with clarity and love.

Your Takeaway Practice

This week, focus on your navel centre energies (Manipura Chakra). These energies activate our confidence, will, determination and ability to transform and obliterate any negative obstacles in our way.

Sit quietly, breathe deeply, and visualise a glowing flame at your belly. Feel it burning away doubt and lighting your way forward.

For a full chakra journey you’ll need to invest in practices that can get you in  there. Head to the YL App or join us in class at our dedicated studio in Wellingborough, UK because that’s what we do here.

Final Call to Action

Remember higher energies like love aren’t something you find outside of yourself; they are something you uncover within yourself. And yoga is your map.

Ready to take the first step? Join us on the YL App for guided practices, meditations, and a community of like-minded souls.
