You know what’s been landing for me this week?
There’s a big difference between being interested in something… and being committed to it.
Interest feels shiny. It buys the yoga bolster, downloads the app, shows up when things feel good or new.
- Commitment shows up when it’s hard.
- When you’re tired.
- When no one’s watching.
- When the novelty’s worn off and the results aren’t in yet.
- When you’re not sure it’s working.
Commitment is brushing your teeth.
Interest is buying the fancy electric one and leaving it in the box.
And that’s the bit most people don’t want to talk about. The messy middle. The part of the journey where it’s no longer exciting, but you haven’t yet arrived at the thing you thought all this was going to lead you to.
Maybe it’s peace. Confidence. Health. Change. Healing.
Whatever it is, that’s where most people quit.
But that messy middle?
That’s exactly where the magic happens.
If — and only if — you stay.
The Pose Isn’t the Point
One of my core values at Yoga Local is progression over performance.
Why?
Because anyone can hit a pose once.
Anyone can do something perfectly once.
But real change happens when you keep showing up — especially when it’s not glamorous.
Yoga isn’t about how it looks. It’s about what it builds inside you. Discipline. Compassion. Patience. Trust. Integrity.
And yes… commitment.
A Moment of Truth (And a Mat)
This week, I’ll be honest — I didn’t feel like practicing.
There was a lot going on behind the scenes (there still is). The easier choice would’ve been to skip it and tell myself I’ll “get back on track tomorrow.”
But I rolled out the mat anyway.
It wasn’t perfect.
But I kept the thread unbroken.
That’s what commitment does.
Not because you have to. Not because someone’s watching. But because you’ve decided the person you’re becoming is worth the repetition. Worth the work. Worth staying for.
So… Are You Interested? Or Committed?
It’s OK to start from interest. We all do.
You see a post. A practice. A philosophy. A feeling.
You get curious. You dip your toe in.
But at some point, if you want change that sticks…
You’ve got to go all in.
No, it won’t be exciting every day.
But it will be worth it.
Because commitment is what bridges the gap between where you are now and who you’re here to become.
If You’re Ready to Stay in the Work…
We don’t do it alone inside the Yoga Local App.
We do it together.
In Sadhana — daily practice.
In community.
In truth.
And we keep each other going — not with perfection, but with presence.
If you’re curious, come check it out.
But if you’re ready to commit… then I’ll meet you on the mat.

We’re still here. We’re still doing the work.
Let’s stay in it — together.

Josie
